The Ogden baseball team opened its postseason run defeating Panorama 5–1 in the first round of the Class 2A Substate 8 tournament Monday, July 7, at home.
Ogden wasted no time getting on the board, scoring 2 runs in the first, 2 more in the second, and adding another in the fourth to build a 5–0 lead.
Panorama managed a single run in the top of the seventh, but it wasn’t enough to threaten Ogden’s control of the game.
Keagan Ristvedt led the Bulldogs at the plate with 3 hits, 2 runs scored, and an RBI.
Brody Burdette added a hit and an RBI, while Tanner Rohe, Hunter Mitchels, and CeJay Jones each crossed the plate.
Colson Carson, Treyton Mitchell, and Christian Thede also chipped in with hits.
On the mound, Carson struck out 9 in a complete game victory.
With the win, Ogden improves to 13–15 overall, while Panorama ends its season at 5–18.
Ogden advances to the Substate 8 quarterfinals, where they’ll face Woodward-Granger (11–12) tonight at 5 p.m. in Neola.
