The Boone girls’ tennis team continued its early-season dominance with a resounding 11-0 shutout victory over Saydel on Tuesday, August 19 at McHose Park.
“We kept rolling along and pushed our record to 3-0 with a nice shutout victory over an experienced Saydel team,” said head coach Shawn Latimer.
Boone’s singles players set the tone early, winning all six matches in straight sets.
No. 1 Livi Schneider led the charge, winning 6-4, 6-2, and No. 2 Kaylee Kuehl followed with a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
No. 3 Claire Hardinger won 6-1, 6-2, and No. 4 Juliana Lutz came out on top, 6-0, 6-4.
No. 5 Ally Thompson, and No. 6 Olivia Conlin each beat their opponent, 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles play, No. 1 Schneider and Kuehl overcame a first-set loss to win in third-set tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (4).
No. 2 Hardinger and Lutz cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win, while No. 3 Thompson and Conlin posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory.
No. 4 Michaella Anderson and Rozzie Stevenson and No. 5 Halle Bailey and Bailey Bunning rounded out the sweep.
Anderson and Stevenson won 6-2, 6-2, and Bailey and Bunning beat their opponent, 6-0, 6-0.

With the win, Boone remains undefeated and looks ahead to a match at Dallas Center-Grimes Wednesday, August 20, at 10 a.m.
