BOONE, Iowa—Ledges State Park Manager Andy Bartlett hosted the “Ledges Ultimate Hike” last Saturday and drew an ambitious crowd willing to take on the distance and steep trails. On the “Ledges Nature Notes” press release, Bartlett reported they hiked 6.30 miles in 2 hours, 54 minutes with an elevation climb of 758 feet. Bartlett noted “We saw it all – from Inspiration Point to Crow’s Nest to Lost Lake, and everything in between!”
Some 50 people were on hand for the trek which not only meant climbing up trails but descending as well.
