The No. 10 Boone girls’ tennis team traveled to Pella and fell to the No. 2 Dutch, 2-9 Thursday, September 4.
No. 2 Livi Schneider delivered a comeback victory, winning in three sets 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (5).
No. 5 Ally Thompson also earned a victory, winning in third-set tiebreaker 6-2, 0-6, 1-0 (7).
No. 1 Kaylee Kuehl fell 0-6, 0-6, and No. 3 Claire Hardinger dropped her match 0-6, 3-6.
No. 4 Juliana Lutz lost 1-6, 1-6, while No. 6 Olivia Conlin fell 4-6, 4-6.
Boone’s doubles teams fought hard but were unable to secure a win.
No. 1 Schneider and Kuehl lost 2-6, 0-6, while No. 2 Hardinger and Lutz fell 1-6, 1-6.
No 3. Thompson and Conlin dropped a close match 2-6, 5-7, and No. 4 Michaella Anderson and Rozzie Stevenson lost 4-6, 2-6.
Finally, No. 5 Halle Bailey and Sarah Owen battled to a tiebreak in the second set but fell 2-6, 6-7 (4).
Next week, Boone will host Fort Dodge Monday, September 8, at McHose Park in Boone.
