The Boone girls’ cross country team kicked off its 2025 season at the Madrid Invitational, held at Grants Woods Park, Thursday, September 4.
The Toreadors finished second with host Madrid winning the meet.
Emma Thomas led the way for Boone, finishing 6th overall with a time of 20:27.95.
Close behind was Briella Johnson, who placed 7th in 20:30.80.
Whitney Chesnut and Reagan Morgan also cracked the top 15, finishing 10th (21:12.95) and 11th (21:26.56) respectively.
Elin Selby achieved a 17th-place finish (23:07.09).
Bryana Morgan had a 28th-place finish (25:19.52).
Boone will compete again on Thursday, September 11, at the Iowa State University Cross Country Course in Ames in a large meet hosted by Gilbert.
