Ogden volleyball goes 2-1 at Perry tourney

The Ogden Bulldogs continued their strong start to the season Thursday, September 11, winning two of three matches at the Perry Tournament.

The Ogden Bulldogs continued their strong start to the season Thursday, September 11, winning two of three matches at the Perry Tournament.  

With victories over Perry and Des Moines East, Ogden improved to 5-3 on the season. 

Game 1: Ogden 2, Perry 0 

Ogden opened the tournament with a sweep of host Perry, powered by a balanced offensive attack and sharp serving. 

Ella Anderson led with 12 assists, while Mailyah Sundell added 6. 

Macy Bristle recorded 7 kills, and Olivia Coleman added 4. 

Sidney Crane and Bristle each had a block. 

Aubrey Leonard anchored the defense with 12 digs. 

Anderson served 8-for-8 with 2 aces. 

Game 2: Ogden 2, Des Moines East 1 

In a hard-fought match, Ogden edged Des Moines East in three sets. 

Sundell had 7 assists, and Anderson added 5. 

Bristle led with 5 kills, while Camryn Askelsen contributed 4. 

Sidney Crane was dominant at the net with 4 blocks. 

Leonard and Anderson combined for 17 digs. 

Paysen Graden served 2 aces, and Anderson was perfect at 14-for-14. 

Bristle and Leonard also served 7-for-7. 

Game 3: Earlham 2, Ogden 1 

Ogden dropped a close match to Earlham to close out the night. 

Anderson had 8 assists, and Sundell added 5. 

Bristle and Coleman each tallied 5 kills. 

Crane added 2 blocks. 

Leonard was outstanding defensively with 19 digs. 

Graden served 7-for-7 with 2 aces, while Anderson and Leonard were also perfect from the line. 

Ogden heads to Madrid on Monday, September 15, for a quadrangular featuring Collins-Maxwell, Madrid, and Pleasantville.
