In a thrilling West Central Activities Conference matchup Tuesday, September 30, Ogden volleyball pushed Pleasantville to the brink but ultimately fell in a five-set heartbreaker, 3-2.
Pleasantville took the early edge, winning the first set 25-18 and edging out a tight second set 27-25.
Ogden responded, claiming the third set 25-22 and dominating the fourth 25-19 to force a decisive fifth.
The final set was a nail-biter, with Pleasantville narrowly escaping with a 15-13 win.
Ella Anderson recorded 24 assists and went a perfect 19-for-19 from the service line, including 3 aces.
Olivia Coleman led the attack with 14 kills and added 3 blocks.
Macy Bristle contributed 10 kills, while Sydney Craighton added 4 blocks at the net.
On defense, Aubrey Leonard anchored the back row with 18 digs, and Grace Christensen added 10 digs.
Ogden now sits at 2-2 in conference play and 10-6 overall, matching Pleasantville’s conference record (2-2) while Pleasantville moves to 11-11 overall.
Next up, Ogden travels to face a tough non-conference opponent in Southeast Valley (16-5) on Thursday, October 2, at Southeast Valley High School.
