Boone’s doubles team of Kaylee Kuehl and Livi Schneider made a strong showing on Wednesday, October 1, at the Class 1A State Doubles Tournament in Iowa City.
They are battling through a competitive bracket and are keeping their season alive in the consolation rounds continuing this morning.
The pair opened the tournament with a comeback win over a team from Pella, dropping the first set 3-6 before rallying to take the next two sets 6-3, 6-3.
In the quarterfinals, they faced a tough team from Decorah and fell 6-4, 6-0, moving them into the consolation bracket.
The Boone team bounced back with a dominant performance against Dike-New Hartford, winning 6-0, 6-2 to advance to this morning’s consolation semifinals.
They’ll return to the courts this morning at 9:30 a.m., where they’ll face a team from Fairfield.
A win would send them to the fifth-place match at noon, while a loss would place them in the seventh-place match, also at noon.
