
The Boone Toreadors capped their season with three relays competing at the 2025 Iowa Girls State Swimming and Diving Meet, held Friday November 14 at the University of Iowa’s Campus Recreation & Wellness Center in Iowa City.
Boone’s 200 Medley Relay team — Avery Howie, Harper Houston, Claire Enabnit, and Quinn Houston — finished 20th overall with a time of 1:56.30.
Later, the 200 Free Relay squad of Sara Gute, Quinn Houston, Finley Houser, and Makenzie Klatt clocked 1:45.86, earning 29th place.
The Toreadors closed the relay events in the 400 Free Relay, where Quinn Houston, Howie, Houser, and Klatt combined for a 24th-place finish at 3:49.67.
On Thursday, November 13, Howie placed 18th in the 50 freestyle and 20th in the 100 backstroke, while Klatt secured 28th in the 100 backstroke.
Boone finished the year with a 41-14 record, claiming first place in the North Central Conference standings.
Along the way, the Toreadors captured the Lincoln High School Swim Invite title in September and also won the conference diving and swimming meet in October.
