
The Madrid girls’ basketball team continued its hot start Monday, November 24, powering past Collins-Maxwell 61-36 in a non-conference matchup at Collins-Maxwell High School.
The Tigers improved to 2-0 on the season behind Laura Eagleton.
Eagleton filled the stat sheet, scoring 27 points on 11 field goals, including two three-pointers and three free throws.
She also added 12 steals, three rebounds, and a block, setting the tone on both ends of the floor.
Mayzie Surratt chipped in 12 points, hitting five field goals and going 2-for-2 at the line.
Samantha Springer provided a spark from deep with 11 points, knocking down four three-pointers and adding three free throws.
Springer also led the team with four assists, while Surratt added three.
On the glass, Lauren Dvorak grabbed eight rebounds and two steals, and Audrey Brown contributed four boards and an assist.
Madrid now turns its attention to a home matchup against Southeast Valley (1-0) on Tuesday, December 2, in a girl-boy doubleheader starting at 6 p.m.
