
The Boone girls’ wrestling team crowned two champions in the upper weights and finished 5th overall with 89 team points Friday, December 5, at the Woodward-Granger Invitational.
Brooklynn Elliott (235) dominated her bracket, winning all three matches by fall to claim first place.
Elliott opened with a pin in just 1:06, followed by a second-period fall, and capped the day with a lightning-fast six-second pin in the final round.
Cadence Heggen (190) also brought home gold, recording two first-period pins to secure the top spot in her division.
Abigail Molitor (145) finished in 3rd place, earning two pins and a hard-fought decision win before falling in the semifinal.
Gracie Vodenik (155) ended in 5th place with three pins in the consolation rounds.
Johanna Meeks (120) and Emersyn Zehner (135) both placed 5th with pins in their placement matches.
Alissa Kirsch (170) finished in 6th place highlighted by a first-round pin.
Jordan Walker (155) ended in 8th place, earning a pin in the consolation bracket.
The Toreadors finished fifth behind Osage, Woodward-Granger, Albia and Creston.
