
The Boone Toreadors boys’ basketball team continued its strong start to the season with a 70-38 non-conference victory over Woodward Academy Friday, December 5, at Boone High School.
Landon Myers led the way with 19 points and dominated the boards, pulling down 14 rebounds while adding three blocks and three steals.
Brandon Holm scored 16 points on three three-pointers and three free throws.
Ryan Bowers chipped in 10 points while Dayne Brekke added eight points, including a three-pointer and a free throw.
Cole Christeson and Hendrix Moorman each scored five points with a three-pointer apiece.
Christeson had seven assists, Brekke added five, and Abel Tungesvik had four.
The Toreadors also controlled the glass, with Myers leading the charge and Bowers and Braxton Gifford adding four rebounds each.
With the win, Boone improved to 2-0 on the season, while Woodward Academy dropped to 1-1.
Next up, Boone opens Raccoon River Conference play Tuesday, December 9, hosting Ballard (2-0).

The girls’ game tips off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at approximately 7:30 p.m.
