Boone Mayor Eli Stines talks about his last regular meeting at Boone Mayor. The Council received updates from Kris Blocker with Visit Boone County (Convention and Visitors Bureau) and Ames Regional Economic Alliance’s Brenda Miller. Miller is also the Executive Director for the Boone County Economic Growth Corporation. Miller noted the big increase in valuation and the more than 200 occupancy permits issued in Boone. He talked about the Water Treatment Plant Ground Storage Reservoir Rehabilitation Project. A contract for that project was award to Minturn, Inc. of Brooklyn, Iowa for more than a million dollars. The bid was under the engineer’s estimated and work is expected to begin in 2026.
