Ogden boys host home dual tournament

The Ogden Bulldogs boys’ wrestling team hosted its annual dual tournament on Saturday, December 13, and ultimately secured 7th place with back-to-back wins to close out the event.

The Ogden Bulldogs boys’ wrestling team hosted its annual dual tournament on Saturday, December 13, and ultimately secured 7th place with back-to-back wins to close out the event. 

The Bulldogs opened the day against Gilbert, falling 48-32 but earning key victories from Cooper Long (126 lbs), Ryder Eklund (132 lbs), Kinnick Munson (138 lbs), Dillon Moe (150 lbs), Lucas Pelleymounter (157 lbs), and Cash Williams (215 lbs).  

Munson had a 15-0 technical fall, while Long, Eklund, and Moe all scored quick pins. 

In the second round, Ogden faced North Butler, dropping a 48-30 decision but again saw strong performances from Long, Eklund, Munson, Moe, and Williams.  

Munson continued his day with a 47-second pin, and Williams earned a win by injury default. 

The Bulldogs ran into a tough Woodward-Granger squad in round three, falling 60-18, but the trio of Long, Eklund and Munson kept Ogden on the board with pins in their matches. 

Ogden turned the tide in round four, rolling past Carroll Kuemper Catholic, 54-18.  

The Bulldogs racked up pins across the lineup, including falls from Eklund (0:28), Munson (0:25), and Dominick (0:38).  

Moe, Pelleymounter, and Alexander also added wins to seal the victory. 

In the 7th-place match, Ogden edged Greene County, 42-36, in a hard-fought battle.  

Long and Eklund continued their perfect day with pins in under a minute, while Munson, Dominick, Moe, Pelleymounter, and Williams all contributed crucial wins to secure the team’s final victory.

The Bulldogs travel to Panorama Thursday, December 18, for a quadrangular.
