
The Ogden girls’ wrestling team finished second overall at the Saydel Girls Invitational on Friday, December 12, with a team score of 144.5 points, just behind Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
Leading the charge was Trinity Stoneburner (110 lbs), who dominated her bracket to claim first place.
Stoneburner had a technical fall in the opening round and three consecutive pins, including a decisive fall in the championship match in just 1:42.
At 190 lbs, Grace Hammer powered her way to a second-place finish, pinning her first three opponents in under two minutes before falling in the finals.
Jozlyn Wells (135 lbs) also earned runner-up honors, recording three quick pins to reach the championship bout.
Rylin Casey (100 lbs) ended in 3rd place, highlighted by a quarterfinal pin and a medical forfeit win in the consolation final.
Alauna Wells (135 lbs) finished in 3rd place, bouncing back with a hard-fought 8-6 decision in the medal match.
Sophie Seligman (125 lbs) ended in 4th place, with two early wins before tough losses in the semifinals and third-place match.
Makayla Alexander (170 lbs) and Ruby Tasler (235 lbs) both finished 6th.
Carlie Hinderaker (115 lbs) and Kinley Hare (140 lbs), each scored pins in the consolation rounds to help Ogden secure its strong team finish.
