Clinton Mantz

OGDEN, Iowa—Clinton Homer Mantz, 84, of Ogden, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, Iowa.

A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden, with Clinton’s funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Dawson, Iowa. Clinton was born June 28, 1941, in Perry, Iowa the son of Dean and Ruth (Bugbee) Mantz.

Clinton attended the Dawson schools until the eighth grade, and finished his education at Ogden High School, class of 1960. He farmed west of Ogden until the early 80’s. Then he worked for Oscar Meyer for several years before going to Firestone until he retired. He served as a union steward for both companies. In retirement he helped several area farmers. Clinton always had an interest in farm equipment and Oliver tractors. He was an avid toy tractor collector. He took pride in decorating his home for the holidays. He also enjoyed attending tractor pulls with his brother Richard. Clinton also owned several collector automobiles throughout his life. He was a member of the Community United Methodist Church.

Clinton is survived by his children Kalene (Rick) Summerville of Salisbury, MO, Karla (Matt) Bott of Highlands Ranch, CO, Tonya Schwarzkopf of Ankeny, IA, Amanda (Dan) Lass of Ogden, IA, grandchildren Jade (Kylen) Byrd, Amber (Bryson) Yowell, Brooke (Lathan) Keen all of Salisbury, MO, Cole Bott, Cale Bott of Highlands Ranch, CO, Samantha Lass, Tyler Lass, Macy Lass of Ogden, IA, Dillon Schwarzkopf of Ankeny, IA, greatgrandchildren Austyn Byrd, Jansen Byrd, Layla Keen, Baby Keen, Baby Yowell, sister Nadean (Gary) Lamle of Columbia City, IN, brother Richard Mantz of Ogden, IA, niece Danielle Gregory, and nephew Eric (Elizabeth) Heineman and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents and great grandson A.J. Summerville, niece Marie Heineman, brother-in-law Dan Eldein.

Memorials may be made to the Ogden Community Schools in memory of Clinton.
