
The Madrid Tigers girls’ basketball team came up short as it fell to Woodward-Granger, 35-23, on Friday, December 12, in a West Central Activities Conference game at Madrid High School.
Samantha Springer led the Tigers with 9 points, knocking down three three-pointers on 3-of-8 shooting.
Laura Eagleton added 7 points, including a three-pointer and two free throws, while Lauren Dvorak chipped in 6 points on 3-for-6 shooting.
Dvorak also dominated the glass, pulling down 11 rebounds and adding a block and a steal.
Mayzie Surratt contributed 8 rebounds and an assist, while Eagleton grabbed 5 boards.
Audrey Brown led the team in assists with two.
The loss moves Madrid to 5-2 overall, while Woodward-Granger improves to 3-2.
Madrid looks to bounce back tonight when they host Van Meter (3-1) in another conference matchup.
Tip-off is set for 6:15 p.m. at Madrid High School, with the boys game to follow.
