
The Boone Toreadors boys’ basketball team exploded offensively on Thursday, January 8, powering to an 84–43 non‑conference victory over Perry behind a strong scoring performance from Hendrix Moorman before losing a conference game at home to ADM Friday, January 9.
Moorman poured in 32 points on 11‑of‑19 shooting, including 7‑of‑11 from three, while also going 3‑for‑3 at the line.
His all‑around effort included 5 rebounds and a steal.
Landon Myers put together a great performance, tallying 19 points on 9‑for‑13 shooting and grabbing 17 rebounds, 6 of them offensive rebounds, along with a block.
Brandon Holm added 11 points, attacking the basket and hitting all 5 of his free‑throw attempts, while contributing 5 rebounds, 3 offensive boards, and 2 steals.
Cole Christeson led the team with 5 assists and an impressive 5.0 assist‑to‑turnover ratio.
Ryan Bowers and Braxton Gifford each added 2 assists, both finishing with a 2.0 assist‑to‑turnover ratio.
Abel Tungesvik chipped in 2 assists.
ADM 66, Boone 40
Less than 24 hours after their win over Perry, Boone returned home for a Raccoon River Conference showdown but fell 66–40 to Adel‑DeSoto‑Minburn on Friday, January 9.
Moorman once again led Boone, scoring 15 points, all from beyond the arc, going 5‑for‑10 from three.
Myers added 13 points and had 14 rebounds, including 4 offensive boards, and 6 blocks.
Holm finished with 6 points while also dishing out 2 assists.
Christeson added 5 rebounds, a steal, and 2 assists while Tungesvik grabbed 4 rebounds, includeing 3 offensive rebounds.
Boone now sits at 3–7 overall and 0–7 in Raccoon River Conference play.
The Toreadors will look to reset when they host North Polk (5–6 overall, 2–5 conference) on Tuesday, January 13, at Boone High School.
