
In their first game of the new year on Friday, January 2, the Boone girls’ basketball team fell to Winterset, 41-21, in a Raccoon River Conference game on the road.
Whitney Chesnut led Boone in scoring with 8 points, going 6-of-7 from the free‑throw line.
Bryana Morgan added 5 points, including a three-pointer, while Macy Chesnut contributed 3 points and grabbed a team‑high 5 rebounds, with 3 offensive boards and a steal.
Maleah Shivers also pulled down 5 rebounds.
Boone’s assist leaders were Kyra Darby, Ava Landas, and Bryana Morgan, each recording one assist, with Landas finishing with a clean 0 turnovers.
Bondurant-Farrar 49, Boone 26
The girls wrapped up their pre‑holiday schedule Friday, December 19, with a conference road matchup at Bondurant-Farrar, falling 49-26.
Macy Chesnut led the Toreadors with 11 points, going 6-of-8 at the free‑throw line and knocking down a three-pointer.
Whitney Chesnut added 6 points and collected 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
Harper Houston connected from long range, finishing with 3 points, while Payton Stolte also added 3 points.
Brooke Weisbrod grabbed 5 rebounds with 2 offensive boards and a block.
Whitney Chesnut added another 4 rebounds.
Whitney Chesnut and Darby handed out 2 assists apiece.
Boone now sits at 1-7 overall and 0-5 in Raccoon River Conference play.
The Toreadors face a challenge tonight as they travel to take on No. 5 Carlisle (10-0 overall, 5-0 conference).
