Boone swimming dominates Grinnell

The Boone boys swimming team delivered a strong performance Thursday, January 8, at Grinnell winning the dual, 125–44. 

Boone opened the night in the 200 medley relay, sweeping the top three spots. 

The relay of Pearson Lampe, Isaac Clark, Caleb Bartlett and Cooper Jensen took first in 1:53.40, while the relay of Simon Enabnit, Oscar Miller, Issac Winey and Dexter Moe finished second in 1:57.39. 

The Toreadors went 1-2 in the 200 freestyle. 

Calvin Cook won in 2:00.03, Bryan Anderson was second in 2:14.56 and Gabe VanDyke placed fourth overall in 2:16.22. 

Then Brady Hyman took first in the 200 IM in 2:17.08 withNoah Winsor placing third in 2:54.45. 

Boone dominated the sprints with Clark winning the 50 free in 21.40. 

Winey was third in 23.86, and Miller finished fourth in 25.58.  

The Toreadors also went 1-2 in the 100 butterfly with Enabnit first in 58.86, Carson Mueggenberg second in 1:00.64 and Xayden Foster fifth in 1:07.79. 

Boone took the top three spots in the 100 freestyle with Jensen finishing first in 53.38, Marcus Cook ending second in 56.34 and Miller placing third in 57.32. 

The Toreadors also swept the 500 freestyle with Calvin Cook in first in 5:33.33, Winey in second in 5:54.86 and Everett Norman in third in 6:26.99. 

In the 100 backstroke, Marcus Cook won in 1:07.97 and Foster took third in 1:11.46.

Meanwhile, Clark won the 100 breaststroke in 58.43, Hyman took third in 1:13.48 and Jensen was fourth in 1:19.43. 

Boone went 1-2 in the 200 freestyle relay as Anderson, Lampe, Calvin Cook and Jensen placed first in 1:39.34 and Enabnit, Muggenberg, Clark and Asher Powell finished second in 1:39.35. 

The 400 freestyle relay capped off the meet with a 1‑2‑3 Boone sweep, led by the relay of Lampe, Bierwagen, Hyman and Calvin Cook finishing first in 3:41.45 as the relay of Foster, Miller Marcus Cook and Muggenberg placing second in 3:42.96.

The Toreadors travel to Marion Saturday, January 10, for the Linn-Mar Swimming Invitational which begins at noon.
