Boone swimming wins 2 events at Linn-Mar

The Boone Toreadors boys’ swim team won two events and finished 5th overall with 218 points at the Linn‑Mar Invitational, Saturday, January 10, at Marion.

The Boone Toreadors boys’ swim team won two events and finished 5th overall with 218 points at the Linn‑Mar Invitational, Saturday, January 10, at Marion. 

Iowa City West won the meet with 426 points followed by Waukee Northwest, Linn-Mar, West Des Moines Dowling Catholic and Boone. 

Eleven teams competed at the invitational. 

The team of Carson Mueggenberg, Isaac Clark, Simon Enabnit and Brady Hyman stormed to 1st place in the 200 Free Relay in 1:28.00. 

Clark also won the 50 Free in 21.18 while Mueggenberg and Hyman followed with top‑10 finishes. 

Clark then raced to 2nd place in the 100 free in 47.59 while Mueggenberg and Hyman again placed in the top 10. 

The same team of Muggenberg, Hyman, Enabnit and Clark had a 2nd‑place finish in the 400 Free Relay in 3:17.82. 

Boone also had an 8th‑place finish in the 200 Medley Relay in 1:46.52 behind the efforts of Isaac Winey, Calvin Cook, Cooper Jensen and Enabnit.  

Enabnit led the Toreadors in the 200 Free, clocking 1:55.84 for 12th, with teammates Winey and Tristan Bierwagen also placing inside the top 20.  

Calvin Cook finished 13th in the 200 IM in 2:15.60.  

Jensen cracked the upper half of the 100 Back in 58.84, and Cook, Wes Schuler, and Pearson Lampe competed in the 100 Breast.  

Caleb Bartlett, Tristan Bierwagen and Oscar Miller all competed in the 500 Free.

The Toreadors do not have a meet this week and next host a quad with Spencer, Algona Bishop Garrigan and Carroll on Tuesday, January 20.
