
The Madrid Tigers boys’ basketball team had a great performance Friday, January 9, cruising to a 62–20 win over Adair‑Casey/Guthrie Center in a West Central Conference matchup at home.
Jevyn Severson was lead all scorers with 28 points on 9‑of‑11 shooting and knocking down 10‑of‑12 free throws.
Severson also controlled the glass with 10 rebounds, including 3 offensive boards, and added 7 assists with a 3.5 assist‑to‑turnover ratio, plus 2 steals.
Emerson Bridgewater finished with 13 points on 5‑of‑11 shooting, including a three‑pointer, and going 2‑for‑2 at the line.
Bridgewater also grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 4 assists.
Logan Bogardus chipped in 9 points, hitting all 3 of his free throws, while Zach Newell anchored the paint with 7 rebounds, 3 offensive boards, a block, and a steal.
Newell also contributed 2 assists.
Madrid improved to 9–3 overall and 5–2 in the West Central Conference.
ACGC dropped to 3–6 overall and 2–5 in league play.
Madrid will hit the road Tuesday, January 13, traveling to Sheffield to face West Fork in a non‑conference matchup.
