
The Boone girls’ basketball team came up short in a 56–23 loss to Adel–DeSoto–Minburn on Friday, January 9, in a Raccoon River Conference matchup at Boone High School.
Macy Chesnut led the Toreadors in the first half with 7 points, knocking down a three‑pointer and hitting two free throws.
Bry Morgan added a second‑half spark with a three‑pointer for 3 points, while Kyra Darby scored 4 points, including two free throws, after halftime.
Whitney Chesnut chipped in 2 points, Maleah Shivers added 2 first‑half points, and Harper Houston hit a first‑half free throw.
Kelcey Mahoney added one free throw in the second half to round out Boone’s scoring.
Carlisle 49, Boone 24
On Tuesday, January 6, Boone traveled to Carlisle for another Raccoon River Conference test, falling 49–24.
Macy Chesnut scored 4 points on 2-of-9 shooting, while Darby also tallied 4 points, hitting 1-of-1 from three and adding 1-of-2 at the line.
Houston provided 3 points on 1-of-1 shooting, which came from behind the arc.
Boone also got 3 points each from Brooke Weisbrod and Ava Johnson.
On the glass, Shivers pulled down 4 rebounds, including one offensive board.
Weisbrod added 4 rebounds of her own along with 3 steals, while Macy Chesnut collected 3 rebounds, one offensive rebound and a steal.
Whitney Chesnut dished out 2 assists.
Avah Hayes added 1 assist, Payton Stolte recorded 1 assist, and Finley Houser added one assist, as well.
Boone stands at 1–9 overall and 0–7 in the Raccoon River Conference.
The Toreadors now prepare to host No. 10 North Polk (9–2 overall, 6–1 conference) on Tuesday, January 13 at Boone High School.
