
The Ogden girls’ basketball team earned its first win of the season Thursday, January 15, a 42–30 non-conference victory over Paton-Churdan at home.
Ogden took an 11–8 lead after the first quarter and stretched it to 16–12 at halftime.
Paton-Churdan rallied in the third quarter, tying the game at 24–24, but the Bulldogs dominated the fourth quarter with an 18–6 surge to put the game away.
Dakota Jones powered the offense with 15 points, hitting three triples and going 4-for-6 at the foul line.
Layla Wells scored 12 points on perfect shooting from the field (3-for-3) and from beyond the arc (3-for-3).
Alena Wilson added 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Anna Wilson had 8 boards, including two offensive rebounds, along with two steals.
Jones added 5 rebounds and 2 steals, while Lauren Mathews pulled down 4 rebounds and recorded 2 steals.
Jones led Ogden with 4 assists, while Wells added 2 and Mathews chipped in 1.
Glidden-Ralston 69, Ogden 27
Coming off their first win of the season, the Ogden girls ran into a tough Glidden-Ralston squad Monday night, January 19, falling 69–27 in non-conference play.
Mathews scored 9 points on 3-of-8 shooting and hit a three-pointer while finishing 2-for-2 at the free-throw line.
Wells added 7 points, knocking down a three.
Sawyer Curry contributed 4 points and pulled down 5 rebounds, while Grace Christensen added 4 points.
Mathews led the Bulldogs with 7 rebounds, and Jones added 6 rebounds, including two on the offensive end, while recording a block and two steals.
Anna Wilson grabbed 5 rebounds and tallied a steal.
Christensen dished out 4 assists, while Jones added two more.
West Central Valley 45, Ogden 26
Finally, Ogden fell to West Central Valley, 45-26, Tuesday, January 13, in a conference game at Stuart.
Alena Wilson led the team with 9 points, shooting 3-of-6 from the field and knocking down two three-pointers.
Anna Wilson added 7 points.
Christensen chipped in 5 points, including a three and two made free throws.
Anna Wilson secured 7 rebounds and two steals, while Mathews brought in 6 rebounds, blocked two shots, and added a steal.
Paysen Graden supplied three rebounds, including one offensive board.
Christensen again led Ogden with 3 assists, while Jones added two and Mathews one.
Ogden now sits at 1–14 overall and 0–9 in the West Central Conference.
The Bulldogs return home tonight for another conference contest, hosting Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center (10–3, 6–2) at 6:15 p.m.
