
The Boone boys’ swim team won the North Central Swimming Conference championship Saturday, January 31, in Decorah.
Boone finished with 533.5 points, well ahead of host Decorah (441.5) for the top spot in the eight‑team field.
Three seniors led the Toreadors.
Issac Clark captured two individual conference titles, winning the 50 freestyle in 20.90 and taking the 100 backstroke in 54.36.
He also contributed legs on Boone’s conference‑winning 200 and 400 free relays.
Simon Enabnit won the 200 individual medley in 2:06.89 and took the 500 freestyle in 5:14.46.
He also contributed legs on both winning freestyle relays.
Carson Mueggenberg finished second in the 100 freestyle (48.90) and helped power Boone’s relays, swimming key legs in both conference relay championships.
The Toreadors’ first relay win came in the 200 freestyle relay, where the squad of Brady Hyman, Mueggenberg, Clark, and Enabnit powered to a 1:30.62 championship time.
Boone closed the meet with another relay victory, taking the 400 freestyle relay in 3:22.41 behind Hyman, Mueggenberg, Cooper Jensen, and Clark, which sealed the team title.
Boone also took second place in the 200 medley relay with the team of Enabnit, Calvin Cook, Jensen, and Isaac Winey finishing in 1:44.97.
Hyman took second in the 200 freestyle (1:56.32) and fourth in the 100 freestyle (51.61), while delivering strong relay legs on both winning relays.
Cook earned third place in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.97) and placed fourth in the 200 IM (2:13.69).
Jensen grabbed second place in the 100 butterfly (58.35) and third in the 100 backstroke (1:00.13).
Winey finished tied for fourth in the 50 freestyle (23.47) and placed fifth in the 100 freestyle (51.99).
In addition, Pearson Lampe, Marcus Cook, Tristan Bierwagen, Dexter Moe and Caleb Bartlett all scored points in their events.

The Toreadors next travel to Ames to compete in the district meet on Saturday, February 7.
The fastest 32 individual swimmers and 24 relay teams from district competition will qualify for state competition.
The state meet is Friday and Saturday, February 13 and 14, at the University of Iowa’s Campus Recreation & Wellness Center in Iowa City.
Teams in Boone’s district include Ames, Boone, Carroll, Des Moines East, Des Moines Hoover, West Des Moines Dowling Catholic, Marshalltown and Newton.
