
The Ogden girls wrestling team opened its run at the Iowa Girls State Wrestling Tournament on Thursday, February 5, with two wrestlers—Rylin Casey (100) and Grace Hammer (190)—earning consolation‑round victories in the opening session before being eliminated later in the day.
Casey earns major decision
Rylin Casey (40‑13) opened her state tournament, falling by pin in 3:26 to Kielly Kasal (West Marshall).
Casey responded in the consolation bracket, dominating Lola Voth (Chariton) with a 13–1 major decision in Consolation Round 1.
Her tournament run ended in Consolation Round 2 with a 6–0 decision loss to Brynnlie Havig (Osage).
Casey concludes her year with a 40–13 record and a state‑tournament victory.
Hammer picks up first‑period fall
Grace Hammer (36‑10) dropped her first bout by fall in 4:25 to Ellie Callahan (Mid‑Prairie).
Hammer bounced back, pinning Gracie Heim (West Delaware) in just 1:14 during Consolation Round 1.
In Consolation Round 2, Hammer came up short in a 10–4 decision against Kennedy Phillips (Colfax‑Mingo), ending her state run.
Hammer closes her season at 36–10 with a state‑tournament victory.

For the 2025-26 season, the Bulldogs placed second at the Saydel Tournament in December, and Hammer was champion of the Colfax-Mingo Invite in January.
Additionally, Ogden crowned 4 conference champions at the West Central Conference meet in January, Casey, Trinity Stoneburner at 110, Hammer and Ruby Tasler at 235.
