
Wrestling in front of their home crowd on Saturday, February 14, the Ogden Bulldogs qualified four individuals for the state wrestling meet.
Ryder Eklund (132), Kinnick Munson (138), Dillon Moe (150) and Lucas Pelleymounter (157) all qualified for the Iowa High School State Wrestling Championships.
Ryder Eklund (38–4) powered through the 132‑pound bracket to claim a district title.
Eklund opened with a 40‑second pin in the quarterfinals, followed with a semifinal fall in 1:22, and capped the day with a 16–5 major decision over Janesville’s Tayler Kibbee in the championship match.
Kinnick Munson (33–7) delivered great performance at 138 pounds.
Munson stormed into the finals with a tech fall (19–3) and a pin in 40 seconds.
Though he fell in the championship to West Hancock’s Ethan Gayken, Munson clinched his trip to Des Moines with a no‑contest victory in the second‑place match.
Dillon Moe (24–12) won the title at 150 pounds.
Moe opened with a first‑period pin, then controlled West Central Valley’s Cody Rodriguez for a 13–2 major decision in the semifinals.
In the championship, Moe produced another major decision, 13–5 over AGWSR’s Jariyah Bowles, completing a 3‑0 day and securing his spot at state.
At 157 pounds, Lucas Pelleymounter (17–9) fought back to qualify for state.
After a quarterfinal pin, he fell in the semifinals to one of the state’s top-ranked wrestlers, Teague Smith of West Hancock.
Pelleymounter bounced back with a bye into the consolation finals, then pinned Berkley Dvorak (North Tama) in 3:40.
In the second‑place wrestle‑back, Pelleymounter delivered a 10–5 decision over Martensdale‑St. Marys’ Ira Hawk, securing Ogden’s fourth state qualifier of the day.
Several Bulldogs advanced in their brackets.
At 165, Landon Alexander (25–16) finished in 3rd place with three wins by fall.
At 175, Jakob Crosman (7–6) finished in 3rd place with a tech fall and major decision.
At 120, Riley Saunders (19–15) finished in 4th place with both a pin and a tech fall.
Chase Young (190), Cooper Long (126) and Isaac Dominick (144) also competed for the Bulldogs

With four qualifiers — Eklund, Munson, Moe and Pelleymounter — Ogden now looks ahead to the Iowa High School State Wrestling Championships later this week at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines.
