Christine Cromwell, 70, Boone, Iowa
BOONE, Iowa—Christine Rosemary Cromwell, beloved mother and sister, passed away on October 21, 2025. She is survived by her son, Christopher Cromwell of Boone, IA, and her sisters Jeanne Larson of Camp Hill, PA, Melissa Larson of Taos, NM, and Candace Larson of Portland, OR.
Christine was born on Long Island, NY on June 11, 1955 to her Norwegian father, Louis Larson and her Italian mother, Carol Collura. She grew up in Florida, Oklahoma and California, and lived for many years in Oregon before moving to Boone in 2020 after retirement. She enjoyed many adventures with her son, hiking and visiting the unique and quirky sights of Iowa and the Midwest. She lived a modest and unmaterialistic life, full of fun, creativity and imagination. Her bright smile could light up a room.
Christine was an avid reader, with a curious mind and a life-long desire to learn new things. She was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boone, and was a very talented artist, expressing her love of God through painting and embroidering devotional Catholic icons.
A memorial for Christine will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 915 12th Street, Boone, Iowa.
