The girls defeated Carlisle, 4‑2, at Goeppinger Field despite playing through steady rain.
The match marked the Toreadors’ first game of the season and their Raccoon River Conference opener.
Emma Thomas and Jaelyn Addy each scored twice to power the Toreadors’ attack.
Boone took a 1‑0 lead into halftime before breaking the game open with three goals in the second half.
Carlisle answered with a goal in each half but could not keep pace with Boone’s offense.
The win marked Boone’s first victory over Carlisle since 2017.
Boone improved to 1‑0 on the season while Carlisle dropped to 1‑1.
Boys game
The boys traveled to Carlisle Thursday and faced a difficult matchup, falling 10‑0 in conference play.
Carlisle took control early and scored five goals in each half.
Goalkeeper Owen Hill recorded nine saves in the match for Boone.
Boone falls to 0‑3 on the season while Carlisle improved to 2‑1‑1.
Both teams return to action on Monday, April 13, as the boys travel to North Polk (2-1-1) for a 5:30 p.m. match, while the girls will host No. 5 North Polk (3-0) at Goeppinger Field with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
