
The Boone boys’ tennis team beat Des Moines Roosevelt and fell to North Polk Thursday, April 30, at a double dual in Alleman.
Boone scored a 9–2 victory over Roosevelt.
The Toreadors won five of six singles matches, highlighted by wins from Calvin Jordan, Patrick Houser, Brandon Holm, Logan Wickman and Sam Chesnut.
Boone continued the momentum into doubles, taking four of five matches.
Wins came from the teams of Houser and Jordan, Holm and Chesnut, Moses Jungck and Owen Clark and Silas Jungck and Kam Lehman.
Boone dropped a 7-4 decision to North Polk.
Singles victories came from Houser, who won 10–3 at No. 3, and Wickman, who matched that score at No. 5.
Several matches were tightly contested, including Jordan’s 9–10 tiebreak loss at No. 2 and Chesnut’s narrow 7–10 setback at No. 6.
In doubles play, Boone earned two points.
The No. 2 team of Houser and Jordan won 10–3, while Moses Jungck and Clark added a 10–2 win at No. 5 doubles.
