07/06/26
Officer received a complaint of an overgrown yard in the 100 block of South Main Street. Officer will stop and speak to the new owner and let them know the city ordinance.
Officer received a call from a Madrid resident. She stated that her son left his shoes at Edgewood over the weekend. The shoes are described as a pair of Gray Keen shoes, size 1. Please turn them into the Madrid Police Department if you found them.
Officer forwarded Boone County dispatch a request for information on a past 911 recording. The request was made by a Detective from the Webster County Sheriff’s Office on a case they are working on.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of South Kennedy Avenue for a possible family member trying to get into a family members storage unit. Officer found nobody on the property and no damage to the lock on the unit. Officer returned a call to the subject after receiving all information from the landlord and informed him that nothing was done improper.
Officer received a call of a vehicle Northbound on Highway 17 coming into town driving very fast and making bad passes. Officer stopped the vehicle at 6th and South Kennedy Avenue and spoke to the driver. The driver was warned for the driving issues.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident about her grandson leaving without permission. Officer messaged the juvenile telling him to go home immediately. The subject responded that he would be headed home.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Market Street, on a dispute over trespass. Officer was able to make contact with the problem half and advise them that they were to stay away from the property from that point forward.
Officer responded to a medical call in the 500 block of Water Street. Patient was seen by medics and transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
Officer received a phone call regarding a found dog that had been running along Highway 210 in Madrid. The caller had picked up the dog and held onto him/her for safety. Officer posted the found dog on the Madrid Media Network Facebook page, where the owner was ultimately located and put in contact with the person who had located the dog.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of South Water Street, to assist with a vehicle unlock.

Officer received a call of fireworks debris all over the High Trestle Trail bridge. Officer notified Boone County dispatch so that Boone County Conservation could be notified and get it cleaned up for safety.
Officer patrolled the city and spoke to several juveniles on bikes and scooters. Several of the kids were seen running stop signs, not wearing helmets, jumping curbs, and riding in the middle of the roadway. These kids were given a safety speech while the kids that were safe, all were given free circus tickets for the circus in Des Moines this weekend. PARENTS: Please talk to your kids about safety procedures while they are out riding. We are all in this together for the safety of our kids.
Officer received a complaint of kids riding a golf cart downtown in a reckless manner. Officer reminds parents, kids driving golf carts must be 16 years of age with a valid license.
Officer was dispatched to a fire alarm at the Madrid Home. Officer made contact with the maintenance employee who stated that they were doing work in the area of the alarm, and accidently set it off.

A caller called in a vehicle because he helped the female change a tire on the vehicle on Highway 17 while talking with her, he felt she was intoxicated. Officer located the vehicle but it was already parked and unoccupied in front of her residence.
Officer received a call from an employee at The Cedars. A female had parked in the back, in the employee parking lot, and when she went out to check on her vehicle it had been hit. She offered the name of the employee who had been parked next to her most of the day. Officer made contact with the suspect and they agreed to take care of it out of court.

Officer assisted Madrid Water staff with a shut-off after finding a large dog tied in the area. The dog loved treats and the water was shut-off with no issues.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident about a dog being tied out all day yesterday in the heat, with no food or water. Subject denied the accusation but agreed that the dog would have water if it was outside. Officer will do frequent checks on the address to ensure the animal is OK.
Officer fingerprinted a new Madrid Middle School staff member, for the required background check.
Officer met with city street staff and looked at an alley, just off the downtown. The new owners put some material down for parking in a rental home that encroaches on the city alley. City staff will be working on the alley this summer to fix the area before winter. Officer will watch the area for any parking issues and get them corrected.

Officer assisted deputies with a medical call west of town on the bike trail as they were all busy with a traffic accident. Officer stayed with the patient until medics arrived to treat.
Officer responded to a trailer in the Meadow Estates to take a report of a dog bite. The owner worked with the humane society to turn over the animal voluntarily for euthanasia and subsequent rabies testing so the juvenile victim would not have to undergo vaccinations.
Officer responded to East 1st Street for a subject refusing to be seen by a Dr. despite declining health. The officer spoke with her at length and she agreed to go to the hospital later that night after a friend was off work and could be there.
Officer responded to the 200 Block of South Market Street for an assault and property damage. Suspect left the scene. Report was taken and criminal charges are pending.
07/11/26
Officer followed up with the Humane Society reference a dog bite call from yesterday.
Officer returned a call reference the previous night’s assault call on South Market Street.
Officer assisted with a medical call that turned into an unattended death investigation.
Officer assisted with a medical call on 1st Street.
Officer responded to the 900 block of South Kennedy Avenue, on a medical call. Patient was transported to the hospital for further evaluation
Officer responded to the 500 block of South Water Street on a medical call. This patient was also transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
Officer responded to several complaints of fireworks throughout town. Officers advised all parties that with the exception of 3-4 July and around New Year’s Eve during certain hours, lighting off fireworks is a costly $500.00 fine.

Officer responded to Madrid Home on a fire alarm, which was determined to be an equipment error and nothing of concern.
