07/20/26
Officer spoke to Madrid Home staff and administration in reference to a call in the business over the weekend. Officer supplied them a call for service.
Officer was dispatched to Casey’s for a cash register alarm that was tripped. Everything checked out OK and it was accidently activated.
Officer assisted a Madrid resident with dispatching a chicken that had injured herself. Animal was dispatched and the owner disposed of it properly.

Officer patrolled the High Trestle Trail and welcomed several bikers into town that came to see the best little city in Iowa.
Officer was dispatched to an emergency medical call in the 400 block of Fairview Drive. Officer stood-by with the patient until Boone County Ambulance arrived and transported the patient to a Des Moines hospital for treatment.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident in reference to a harassment issue between her and her ex. Officer received all of their information so that he could be contacted and given a warning. The owner of the business that she worked for also wanted the subject given a trespass warning for the business that he could not come into the business or call if the subject was working. The officer was able to contact the subject by phone and give him the warnings.
Officer received a complaint of a dog running at large at Edgewood Park. Officer spoke to the owner, who was visiting a family member near-by and gave her a warning for allowing the dog to run at large.
Officer spoke to a juvenile operating a golf cart on the city street. The juvenile was not 16 so the officer sent her home with a warning, but told her not to be back out on the roadway.

Officer received a complaint of an obstruction on a sidewalk at 6th and Market. Officer located a sump pump line that was across the sidewalk. Officer removed it from the sidewalk and placed it back onto the owner’s property to discharge.
Officer spoke to a Madrid homeowner after he left the Boone County Clerk of Courts. He had drawn up a 3-day notice for two subjects to vacate his home in the 600 block of South Water Street. Officer assisted with the process and explained the Boone County Sheriff’s Office process if they are not out in the three days that the notice requires.

Officer did background checks on (3) different individuals that did paperwork for a city-wide vendor’s license.
Officer was dispatched to an emergency medical call in the 200 block of South Cedar Street. Officer stayed with the patient until Boone County Ambulance arrived on scene. Patient was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Officer received a call from a Madrid resident who had a family member pass away. The caller was worried about another family member showing up at the family residence and causing issues. Officer informed her to call if the family member did show up and cause issues and then he would be trespassed at that time and escorted off of the property.
Officer fingerprinted a Madrid resident for a job-related background check.
Officer received a complaint of a vehicle driving on West 8th Street and through Edgewood Park with a police siren activated. The vehicle was described as a tan colored Isuzu 80s/90s pick-up. Officer was unable to locate the truck but believed he knew the driver.
Officer performed a vehicle unlock for a Madrid resident in the 300 block of West 5th Street.
Officer was requested by the county to check on a 911 hangup call on Violet Ave. Officer checked a residence and a construction area. All parties were ok and no one knew who dialed 911.
A Madrid resident found a debit card on the street and turned it into the Police Department. Through a quick check on Facebook, the Officer was able to locate the owner of the card and return it to their residence.

Officer assisted a deputy with a traffic stop on Gerald Street. The driver was cited for an expired registration.
Officer responded to a residence on East 1st Street, reference a rent to own scam. A subject made a down payment on a house that was listed for sale by an online scammer and the home is not actually for sale.
Officer responded to the 600 block of Brodie Lane, on a neighborhood dispute. Both parties were advised, and one half of the dispute was transported to his nearby residence by the officer.

Officer assisted on a medical call in the Meadow Estates.
Officer gave a residence extra patrol reference a landlord / tenant issue.
Officer returned a call to a subject reference a house watch.
Officer responded to the area behind Pancho Villa on the report of a reckless driver. Prior to it being called in, there was a several minute time delay. Officer was unable to locate anyone driving recklessly in the area upon arrival.

Officer responded to a residence on East 6th Street, for a medical call.
Officer responded to Dollar General for a medical call. The patient advised that he was in an altercation at a trailer at Meadow Estates prior to the call. During a search he was found to be armed with a kitchen knife. Officer checked the welfare of the trailer occupants and found them to be ok.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of East 9th Street, on a 911 call with the line still open. It was determined that the 911 call was accidental.
