
The Boone girls’ cross country team finished second to North Polk Thursday, September 3, at the Bondurant-Farrar Invitational, placing three runners among the top five finishers.
Boone was paced by Emma Thomas, who crossed the finish line second overall in a time of 21 minutes, 4.87 seconds.
Thomas finished just behind North Polk’s Alexis Hergenreter, who won the race in 20:24.59.
Whitney Chesnut claimed third place in 21:35.11, and Briella Johnson added a fifth-place finish in 22:07.00.
Boone had three runners in the top five and four runners among the first 12 finishers.
Reagan Morgan placed 12th in 23:39.05, and Chloe Chesnut rounded out the team’s scoring five with a 27th-place finish in 25:45.74.
Bryana Morgan finished 32nd in 26:56.08, while Lauren Erickson placed 45th in 28:41.76.
Elin Selby crossed the line in 47th at 29:01.45, and Aubrey Erickson was 54th in 30:54.37.

North Polk, Winterset, Carlisle, host Bondurant-Farrar and Boone competed at the meet.
The Toreadors will compete at the Gilbert Cross Country meet Thursday, September 10, held at the Iowa State University cross country course in Ames.
