With us on coach's corner KWBG going to talk some boon volleyball today as Shambrae Burke joining us. The Troy Doris had a chance over the weekend to play over at the Woodward Granger tournament or invitation, I guess. And coach three wins out of five matches, not too shabby. Yeah, it was a great weekend. What, uh, going into that, because you knew you were going to face some, uh, some schools and I guess I shouldn't say that you won't face her in the year because I know you have Ogden again in Best of Boon County on Thursday, but really chances to face schools that you don't see during the regular season. So scouting wise was going to be a little difficult. Yeah, it was, I mean, this weekend was a phenomenal way for us. We'd worked on so many things in practice this week because the last week, we only had a game on Tuesday. So we had the luxury of really hitting our gym, multiple practices in a row to kind of break things back down almost preseason wise and just really go back through the fundamentals. And so, um, not necessarily from a scouting standpoint, but just from like competitive reps and really putting the things that we're working in practice into competitive play was a phenomenal opportunity for us. I know the one thing I saw against Ballard on Tuesday was it seemed like the rallies weren't kind of going your way that night. Did you feel better about those against Woodward Granger at the tournament? Yes. And some of those two, right? It's just getting comfortable in rotations. The girls have been amazing in, and just being ready to take on different rotations, different positions. And I think that this week, especially in practices and then us able to put it together on Saturday, we're really able to feel kind of a new groove and get comfortable being around the different girls in the different rotations. I guess something else that I saw too, that was definitely, uh, encouraging was kind of felt like the passing was pretty good in the, in the second and third set against Ballard. Did that take another step forward on Saturday? It did. It's, I mean, one of the biggest things that I've told the girls, the two, well, I guess the two things, and I said it, I believe in an earlier interview with you was, um, consistency and execution. And so, you know, really making sure that the way that we're moving stays consistent, especially when we get into those, those holes, right? And we want to put ourselves in a position where we don't feel like once we find that groove that we're having to dig out ourselves out of a hole plus push ahead and make that distance. And so that is, I think, gonna forever be a thing kind of as what I like to lead with, you know, my coaching style, but especially with this season is for us to continue that consistency. Um, this weekend specifically, I felt like the girls did a phenomenal job resetting. There were a couple of times where we got caught in holes, but we did a phenomenal job of kind of reevaluating and then getting right back after it. I know net play is also a huge when it comes to volleyball, especially in this conference, there's so many amazing hitters. If you don't get your hands up, you got no chance to tip or get a block. Did that take a step forward too? Yes. So it's a lot of confidence building, um, in those things. And it was, it was great. Um, to see, I feel like a lot of confidence was shown. Um, I saw an increase in that with Ava Johnson. I also saw an increase with Jenna Murray, um, and Kaylee Keele. Like they, I think they were like, holy crap, we can do this. Uh, and I just saw them swinging away more than we ever have and being like, Hey, we are also these aggressive players. Like we too can show up and make the other core, make the other side work. Um, so that was really fun to watch. And yes, there has been definitely lots of different reps in practice. As you said it best, um, we've got a conference of phenomenal hitters and so us being ready for everything. Gilbert, your next opponent coming up tomorrow night, get a chance to hit the road and then, uh, the best of Boone County on Thursday night. This is going to be a busy week for the girls. Yeah, it is. Um, I think we're ready. We're right in that sweet spot of repetition and just really putting what we've worked on in practice and now the best thing we can do is just get out there, be competitive and then these girls do a great job of being reflective and then applying what went well, what didn't go well, and then trying new things and putting that right into their play. Obviously, I know a conference match is the biggest part, but boy, it feel pretty nice to defend that championship on Thursday too. Wouldn't it? Yeah, that would be a lot of fun. So I know the girls are hungry for it and I'm excited to see them get after it. I bet. Chambray is always, thank you so much for some time. Best of luck.
