
Roger Buechler, 83, Scottsdale, Arizona
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona—Roger Buechler, 83 of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at the Hospice of the Valley/Sherman House on August 13, 2026.
Roger Lee Buechler, was born October 26, 1942 in Boone, Iowa to Kenneth and Lyla (LeMaster) Buechler.
Roger attended United Community School, graduating in 1960. He moved to Sioux Falls, SD to attend Sioux Falls College. While in Sioux Falls, he met/married Patricia Nelson in 1965. He made Sioux Falls his home, working as office manager for Golden Rule Construction.
In 1983, he divorced and moved to Arizona, where he worked as an accountant/office manager at Grammar Construction. When he retired, he kept himself busy driving transportation buses for various companies, he enjoyed cars and driving, He spent many weekends taking long drives, exploring new places.
He was expert on car repairs, repairing small to complex problems. He enjoyed Nascar, attending many races across the US and spent Sundays watching races on television, with a bowl of popcorn and peanuts. One of his greatest memories he repeatedly shared, was the races he attended with his brother, Bob.
Other favorites of Roger were country music, a good steak, loaded baked potato and salad. Chocolate cake, always remembering his mothers special chocolate cake, that no one could replicate, he loved his Rocky Road Ice-cream.
Roger will be remembered as charming, a fun sense of humor, giving and had a smile that attracted many people. He made friends easily and formed many bonds with people.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents Lyla (1994), Kenneth (2003) and his baby brother, Richard (1947).
He is survived by his daughters, Rachelle Muir (Rick), Roxanne Harr (Darin). Grandchildren, Brennan, Alyvia, Amy, Allison and Ashley. Brother, Robert (Sheila) Buechler, Sister Jean LeMaster, Nieces, Nephews, many cousins and his Aunt Lois (LeMaster) Nutt
He is survived by his beloved, loyal and faithful dog, Buddy, who provided him 8 years of love and companionship.
A celebration of Life and interment will take place October 24, 2026, 11:30 AM at Olive Branch Cemetery, 1404 W Avenue, Ames, Iowa with a luncheon following.
