
The Boone volleyball team gave its seniors a memorable sendoff Thursday, October 3, defeating Des Moines Lincoln 3-0 in a non-conference match in the Toreadors’ final home contest of the 2026 season.
Leading the attack was Ava Johnson, who recorded a team-high nine kills.
Halle Johnson had 12 assists while also making an impact from the service line with six aces.
Boone’s defense was anchored by Karsyn Smith, who collected 25 digs.
At the net, Kaylee Kuehl and Jenna Murray each contributed a block.
The Toreadors were especially sharp serving the ball.
Boone finished the match at 93 percent serving efficiency with Hailee Bingham adding four aces.
Ava Landas, Claire Hardinger and Kuehl all served at a perfect 100 percent rate.
Earlier in the month, the Toreadors competed at the Newton Cardinal Volleyball Invitational on Saturday, October 3.
Boone dropped matches to Newton, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, Hudson and Davis County.
Individual statistics from the tournament were not available as of Friday afternoon.
Boone enters the final week of the regular season with a 7-18 overall record and a 0-6 mark in the Raccoon River Conference.
The Toreadors will close out both their regular-season and conference schedules on Tuesday, October 13, when they travel to face Adel-DeSoto-Minburn.
The Tigers enter the matchup with a 20-9 overall record and 3-2 conference mark.
