BOONE, Iowa—Alliant Energy customers on the southside of Boone and some in the rural part of Boone County sustained a power outage this afternoon. A report from Alliant said the cause was an issue at the substation on the south side of Boone. The incident occurred shortly after 2:00. Service is expected to be restored shortly.
