Another ranked opponent takes down Boone

The Boone football team took the field against another rated opponent on Friday, Sept. 27.  

Boone hung with No. 10 Adel-DeSoto-Minburn in the first half as ADM led, 21-13, at halftime.  

The Tigers pulled away in the second half and chalked up a 49-27 victory over Toreadors in Adel in Class 4A, District 5, play. 

One of the highlights of the evening for the Toreador offense was senior Dylan Bolton’s 99-yard kick return for a touchdown.  

Bolton had 2 total kick returns and also was 3 of 4 for PATs. 

Junior Jude Baumgardner went 6 for 20 for with 122 passing yards and 2 touchdowns, and he also rushed for 40 yards. 

Senior Lucas Boucher led the run game with 19 carries for 80 yards. 

Sophomore Maddox McIntyre also had 6 carries for 25 yards and 1 touchdown 

For the receiving corps, senior Tyson Shivers had 1 reception for 55 yards. 

Boucher caught 2 receptions for 17 yards and 1 touchdown. 

The Boone defense was led by senior Joshua Ingram with 9.5 tackles (6 solo tackles). 

Senior Justus Frese had 6.5 tackles (3 solo tackles), and Shivers had 5 tackles (4 solo tackles). 

Boucher snared 1 interception away from the Tigers. 

The Toreadors get a break from rated opponents as they face Indianola Friday, Oct. 4, at Goeppinger Field in Boone. Both teams are 3-2 overall and 0-1 in district play.
