Ondrea Elmquist, Administrator and Waylon Andrews, Public Works Director for the City of Boone talk about City Wide Clean-up beginning next week. They emphasize that there have been some changes in the guidelines that will affect how much people put out to be hauled away. Elmquist points out that the city has always exceed the amount of tonnage waived by the landfill and that means there is a cost associated to the clean-up. Elmquist talked about projects that are still moving ahead, noting that the Council will consider action to reject a bid received for the Wastewater Treatment Facility Headworks Building Improvements, a project started a couple of years ago to update the facility to meet increasing capacity, even before Daisy decided to come to Boone.
