
The Boone girls’ basketball team couldn’t keep pace with Ballard on Tuesday, January 20, falling 54–35 in a Raccoon River Conference game in Huxley.
The Toreadors were led offensively by Macy Chesnut, who poured in 19 points to account for more than half of Boone’s scoring.
She connected on 7-of-21 shooting, including 4-of-15 from three-point range, while adding four rebounds, four steals, and two assists.
Brooke Weisbrod added four points, knocking down one field goal and converting both of her free throw attempts and also pulled down four rebounds.
Kyra Darby chipped in four points, hitting a three-pointer and collecting two assists.
Whitney Chesnut led the team with five rebounds while recording three steals, and Harper Houston added four rebounds, including two on the offensive end, along with a steal.
Macy Chesnut, Darby, and Bryana Morgan each recorded two assists.
With the loss, Boone dropped to 2–11 overall and 0–9 in Raccoon River Conference play. Ballard improved to 5–11 overall and 4–5 in the conference.
Boone returns home tonight for a non-conference matchup against Des Moines Hoover. Tipoff at Boone High School is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
