Bondurant-Farrar bests Boone in conference play

The Boone volleyball team made progress in each set; however, the girls lost the match to Bondurant- Farrar at home, 25-8, 25-15, 25-21, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, in conference play.

The Boone volleyball team made progress in each set; however, the girls lost the match to Bondurant- Farrar at home, 25-8, 25-15, 25-21, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, in conference play. 

Junior Tria Hoyle led the Toreador attack with 6 kills while senior Emma Wiebold added 3 kills. 

At the service line, senior Danielle Eshelman went 11 for 11 with 2 aces as sophomore Karsyn Smith was 6 for 7 with 1 ace. 

Junior Jenna Johnson led the team with 12 assists. 

The Boone defense was paced by senior Addie Tungesvik who had 16 digs. Additionally, Eshelman had 9 digs. 

The loss drops Boone to 2-10 overall and 0-4 in Raccoon River Conference play. Bondurant-Farrar improves to  8-10 overall and 2-1 in conference play. 

The Toreadors will hold the Boone Invitational at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.  

Teams participating include Ames, Boone, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, Forest City, Fort Dodge and Knoxville.
