
A five-run outburst in the bottom of the fifth inning powered Boone to a 5-1 non-conference victory over Des Moines Lincoln on Monday, June 29, at Memorial Park.
Levi Behn collected two hits, including a double, drove in two runs, scored once, and added a stolen base.
Ryan Bowers also contributed a hit and drove in two runs.
Landon Youngblood chipped in across the board with one hit, one run scored, and an RBI, while Noah Davies and Tyce Carlson each crossed the plate in the fifth-inning rally.
Davies and Braxton Gifford both added singles.
Noah Gorman tossed a complete game, striking out seven while limiting Lincoln to just one run, which came in the top of the sixth inning.
With the win, Boone improves to 14-9 overall, while Des Moines Lincoln falls to 9-21.
The Toreadors will travel tonight to Alleman to face North Polk, which enters play at 20-7 overall and 6-7 in conference action.
