The Boone Baseball team travels to Sioux City’s Lewis and Clark Park to take on top seed Wahlert Catholic Monday morning at 11:30am. Head Coach Charlie Eastlund takes us back to the Humboldt substate game and the mind set of his team coming to the dugout trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 11th inning.
Boone would go on to plate two runs with the game winning RBI belonging to Dylan England as Reid Carr would come home to score on his base hit. Eastlund said the goal, especially for this senior class, has been to get back to State.
The Toreadors will take on top ranked and top seeded Wahlert Catholic, a team that has been to the semifinals three years in a row and the 3A title game four years ago. Eastlund says that the praise and accolades this Golden Eagles team has been given are rightfully earned, but he feels like his team won’t back away from a challenge.
First pitch from Sioux City is slated for 11:30am on Monday with pregame (including an interview with Charlie Eastlund) starting around 11:15am on AM1590, FM101.5 or kwbglive.com.
