
The Boone basketball teams had a Raccoon River Conference doubleheader on the road Friday, February 13, with the girls falling, 62–30, to No. 8-ranked North Polk and the boys also losing to the Comets, 60-48.
For the girls, Bry Morgan led the Toreadors with 9 points, hitting three 3-pointers.
Brooke Weisbrod added 7 points, knocking down a pair of field goals and going 3-of-4 at the free‑throw line.
In the second half, Whitney Chesnut provided a boost with 5 points, while Harper Houston and Kyra Darby scored 3 points each.
Abigail Leu added 2 points, and Avah Hayes rounded out the scoring with 1 point.
North Polk is now 18–3 overall and 14–2 in the Raccoon River Conference.
Boone enters the postseason at 5–16 overall and 2–14 in conference play.
Girls game: ADM 54, Boone 12
On Tuesday, February 10, Boone fell to No. 12 Adel–DeSoto–Minburn, 54–12.
Stats for that game have not yet been posted.
The girls now move into regional play.
Boone will travel to Webster City (8–13) for a Class 4A Region 2 quarterfinal on Wednesday, February 18 at 7 p.m. at Webster City High School

Boys game: North Polk 60, Boone 48
For the boys, Hendrix Moorman paced the Toreadors with 13 points, shooting 6-of-10 from the field and adding a three‑pointer.
He also chipped in 2 assists.
Braxton Gifford scored 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-5 on three-pointers.
Jude Baumgardner added 8 points and delivered 7 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal.
Landon Myers pulled down 6 rebounds, including 3 offensive boards.
Cole Christeson contributed 2 rebounds and recorded 3 assists with zero turnovers.
Boone falls to 4–16 overall and 1–15 in conference play, while North Polk improves to 11–10 and 7–9.
The boys step outside conference play tonight, traveling to take on 18–3 Nevada at 7:30 p.m. at Nevada High School.
