
The Boone boys’ track and field team earned several top-10 finishes and had strong relay performances at the Central College meet Friday, March 20 in Pella.
Relay events
The 4×800 quartet of Ajay Braddock, Maddox McIntyre, Teddy Johnson and Calvin Cook combined for a time of 8:55.64 to finish second overall.
The 4×200 group of Gabe Villalva, Duke Darby, Brady Hyman and Ryder Hilsabeck combined for 1:41.59, good for sixth place.
Boone’s 4×100 squad of RJ Lennon, Cooper Flaherty, Landon Youngblood and Cy Bossard clocked 48.88 to place seventh.
Distance and field events
In the 3200-meter run, Dorian Meyers clocked 11:33.30 to secure eighth place.
Braddock led the team in the 1600-meter run with a 5:09.57 while Johnson (5:20.22) and Cook (5:31.35) followed.
In the high jump, Issac McCloud cleared 5‑05.25 and placed 10th.
Villalva had a 18‑03.25 in the long jump, placing him 14th.
Dominic Nordin (16‑08.00) and Henry Wright (16‑11.00) also competed.
Slayde Lee led the way with a 42‑08 in the shot put.
Javier Casiano added a 44‑01.25, while Ryan Shadle (36‑00.00) and Ali Albattat (35‑01.00) also competed.
Sprint events
In the 100-meter dash, Villalva (12.51), Reid McClain (12.62) and Hilsabeck (12.72) paced the Toreadors.
Bently Stolte (12.81) and Youngblood (12.82) were among Boone’s top finishers in the 100.
McIntyre recorded Boone’s top 200-meter dash result with a 24.27.
Villava (25.18), Stolte (26.01), Bossard (26.21) and McClain (26.42) also were among Boone’s top finishers in the 200.

The Boone boys compete against Perry, Ogden and Woodward-Granger at a scrimmage at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Ogden High School.
