
The Boone Toreadors boys’ wrestling team hit the road Thursday, January 15, for a double dual at Adel–Desoto–Minburn, earning a victory over Woodward‑Granger and defeating ADM.
Dual 1: ADM 31, Boone 39
Boone opened the night against ADM in a competitive dual with a win, 39-31.
Easton Landas got Boone rolling at 106 pounds, scoring a 13–3 major decision, followed by Aiden Harris, who pinned his opponent in 1:42 at 113.
At 120, Mason Oostenink kept the streak alive with a close 5–3 decision.
After ADM regained control with a pair of pins, Ajay Braddock responded with a fall in 1:25 at 132.
Tate Hollenkamp matched the intensity with a 38‑second pin at 144.
Boone’s upper weights added key points as Trent Eckard delivered a 18–3 tech fall in 5:50 at 175, and Hayden Nerem muscled his way to a 12–3 major decision at 215.
An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty cost the Toreadors an additional point, resulting in a 39–31 win.
Dual 2: Boone 45, Woodward-Granger 35
Boone bounced back with a strong showing against Woodward‑Granger, winning 45-35.
The Toreadors opened with five straight pins: Landas in 1:15, Harris in 4:50, Oostenink in 39 seconds, Issac McCloud at 126 in 1:03 and Braddock in 3:49.
Woodward‑Granger won at 138 and 144, but Owen Thomas recorded a 28‑second pin at 150.
After another W‑G pin at 157, Brody Warrick at 165 delivered a 10–3 decision.
Trent Eckard at 175 added a fall in 4:52.
Woodward‑Granger tried to close the gap with late pins at 190, 215 and 285, but Boone secured a 45–35 victory.
