
The Boone Toreadors boys’ basketball team saw its season come to a close, falling 79–49 to Gilbert in a Class 3A first‑round postseason matchup Monday, February 23, at Gilbert High School.
Senior Hendrix Moorman scored 18 points, going 6-for-9 from the floor and knocking down 4-of-6 from beyond the arc while making both of his free throws.
Moorman also added 3 rebounds and an offensive board.
Senior Landon Myers scored 14 points on 7-of-16 shooting and anchored Boone’s rebounding effort with 9 boards, including 1 offensive rebound.
He also blocked 2 shots and dished out 3 assists.
Senior Jude Baumgardner finished with 9 points on 4-of-10 shooting, including a three-pointer.
He also led the team with 5 assists while committing just one turnover and had 2 rebounds.
Baumgardner added 2 rebounds, 1 steal and another pair of assists throughout the night.
Sophomore Cole Christeson had 2 points, 4 rebounds (1 offensive), 2 steals and 2 assists.
Sophomore Braxton Gifford added 2 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists.
Sophomore Brandon Holm grabbed 2 rebounds.
The Tigers improved to 14–8 overall and 9–7 in conference play.
The Toreadors wrapped up their season 4–18 overall and 1–15 in the Raccoon River Conference.

Moorman scored 269 points and averaged 12.2 points per game.
He shot 37.8% for field goals, 35.9% for 3-pointers, and 81.8% for free throws.
Moorman also had 66 rebounds and averaged 3.0 rebounds per game.
Holm scored 123 points and averaged 6.2 points per game.
Christeson had 68 rebounds and averaged 3.1 rebounds per game.
He also had 87 assists and averaged 4.0 assists per game.
Freshman Abel Tungesvik had 25 assists and averaged 1.3 assists per game.
