
Hendrix Moorman scored 20 points, but the Boone boys’ basketball team couldn’t overcome a late surge by Denison-Schleswig in a 58–50 non-conference loss Friday, January 16, at Denison.
Boone was led by Moorman and Landon Myers, who turned in a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Braxton Gifford added 9 points and 7 rebounds.
Moorman went 4-of-10 from beyond the arc and added four free throws to lead Boone’s offense.
Gifford knocked down a three and was a perfect 2-for-2 from the line.
Myers grabbed three offensive rebounds, blocked three shots, and collected a steal.
Abel Tungesvik finished with 4 assists and zero turnovers.
Gifford and Cole Christeson each passed out three assists, as well.
The loss drops Boone to 3–9 overall and 0–8 in the Raccoon River Conference.
The Toreadors head to Huxley tonight to take on No. 1 Ballard (12–0 overall, 9–0 conference).
