
Facing the top-ranked team in Class 3A, the Boone Toreadors boys’ basketball team was overpowered Tuesday, January 20, as No. 1 Ballard defeated Boone, 79–33, in a Raccoon River Conference matchup at Boone High School.
Hendrix Moorman paced Boone with 10 points, knocking down two three-pointers and finishing 4-of-11 from the field.
Moorman also added 2 assists.
Braxton Gifford delivered 8 points, hitting 3-of-7 from the floor and connecting on 2-of-4 from deep, while also grabbing 3 rebounds.
Abel Tungesvik scored 7 points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting night, adding a 1-of-2 effort at the free‑throw line.
Landon Myers pulled down 5 rebounds, including 2 offensive, and added a block.
Cole Christeson added 3 rebounds (one offensive) and dished out a team‑high 6 assists.
With the victory, Ballard improves to 13–0 overall and 10–0 in the Raccoon River Conference, and Boone drops to 3–10 overall and 0–9 in league play.
The Toreadors remain at home on Friday, January 23, hosting Gilbert in another conference matchup.
