Boone boys open track season at Mason City

The Boone boys’ track and field team opened its season Tuesday, March 17, at the Mason City Indoor Meet with several top-10 finishes.

The Boone boys’ track and field team opened its season Tuesday, March 17, at the Mason City Indoor Meet with several top-10 finishes. 

Sprint events 

Maddox McIntyre placed 6th in the 200-meter dash, clocking 24.74. 

He also placed 19th in the 60‑meter dash prelims with a time of 7.51.  

RJ Lennon ran 7.91 in the 60 prelims, finishing 40th overall.  

Cy Bossard ran 8.20 in the 60 prelims. 

Distance and hurdle events 

Dorian Myers ran a 5:09.94 in the 1600-meter run, earning an 8th‑place finish.  

In the 60-meter hurdles, Noel Malin ran a 9:50, finishing 12th, while Duke Darby crossed in 11:14 for a 28th‑place finish.  

Dominick Nordin also contributed with an 11.27 time in the 60-meter hurdles, placing 30th. 

Middle-distance events 

Brady Hyman led Boone in the 400 meters, finishing in 1:06.62, placing 41st. 

Meanwhile, Pearson Lampe ran a 2:29.96 in the 800 meters, which placed him 20th in the event.  

Lincoln George added a time of 2:51.41 for 38th. 

Field events 

In the shot put, Boone put two throwers in the top 10. 

Javier Casiano threw 44‑00.50 for 9th place, and Slayde Lee followed closely with 43‑00.00, finishing 10th. 

Additionally, Ali Albattat placed 18th at 38‑09.50. 

In the high jump, Issac McCloud cleared 5‑08, finishing in a tie for 9th place. 

In the long jump, Gabriel Villalva leapt 18‑00.00, placing 16th while Nordin added a jump of 17‑00.00 for 24th. 

Relay events 

The Distance Medley Relay of Villalva, Bentley Stolte, McIntyre and Teddy Johnson placed 7th in 4:03.86. 

The 4×60 Relay of Bossard, Henry Wright, Stolte and Ryder Hilsabeck placed 10th with a time of 30.21. 

The 4×800 Relay of Myers, Lampe, Johnson, and George crossed in 9:53.40 for 10th place. 

The 4×400 Relay of Bossard, Stolte, Lennon and Johnson placed 11th in 3:54.63. 

The 4×200 Relay, Boone’s quartet of Hilsabeck, Wright, Malin, and Jonathan Van Roekel ran 1:44.65, finishing 15th.

The Boone boys next compete at the Central College Indoor meet Friday, March 20, in Pella.
